Hans-Wichart von Busse

Hans-Wichart von Busse was born in Germany in 1903 and is best known for his work as an excavation photographer during an archaeological expedition to Persepolis carried out in 1933 and 1934. This expedition was led by archaeologist Ernst Herzfeld, who worked for the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago at this time. Hans-Wichart von Busse' photographs have been exhibited at the Harvard Art Museum in the gallery of Near Eastern Art and form part of the private collection of Azita Bina and Elmar W. Seibel.
