The number "841" in white ink appears on recto in what may be the hand of Antoin Sevruguin. A gelatin silver print of this image is also in the Myron Bement Smith collection of Antoin Sevruguin Photographs held in the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery Archives. Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. The print in this collection does not have the number "841", but rather the number "751" on recto in a different location. A further number is also on recto but is not readable as it has been scratched out.

There is an albumen print with a portrait variation of the same individual in the Nelson collection.
