The print has an annotation attached stating "La foule attendant l'ouverture d'une des portes du palais du Shah de Perse" and is dated 22 November 1911. The print is studio stamped on verso by M Branger, Paris and copyrighted. However, the print appears to be a photograph of the original photograph by Mirza Hassan. Maurice-Louis Branger (1874-1950) was a French photographer who created the Paris-based reportage agency "Photo-Presse" in 1905.

This image is attributed to Mirza Hassan in "The History of Photography and Pioneer Photographers in Iran" by Yahya Zoka, 1997.
