The numbers "197" and "878" in white ink appear on recto in what may be the hand of Antoin Sevruguin. These numbers appear in the same location as the other gelatin silver print in the Nelson collection.

The numbers "197" and "878" in white ink appear on recto in what may be the hand of Antoin Sevruguin. These numbers appear in the same location as the other gelatin silver print in the Nelson collection. However, the number "878" has been scratched out on the print held in the Pitt Rivers Museum.
