Located in the travel album by Hendrik Dunlop (1867-1944) with pictures of sights in Persia (Shiraz), Scotland, Germany, Russia, China and Canada. The album, which forms part of the Rijksmuseum collection, contains 31 pages with a total of 62 photographs with landscape, city, village and harbour views in Scotland, Germany, Russia, China, Canada and especially Iran. Dunlop was a partner of the textile company Groeneweg, Dunlop & Co. and a representative of the Dutch trading company JCP Hotz & Zoon, which was located in Shiraz.
Titled in parsi "English building in the Port of Bushehr" in the "History of Photography and Pioneer Photographers" in Iran by Yahya Zoka. Published in 1997 by Offset Press Inc., Tehran.
Given the importance of the Port of Bushehr for maritime trade, the city attracted investment by foreign companies and governments. As such, the Port of Bushehr has been recognised as having some of Iran's earliest examples of modernist arquitecture.
The image is titled "Indo-European Telegraph Co." in a postcard dated early 1900s with the location stated in French as "Bouchir".
