The number "166" in white ink in what may be the hand of Antoin Sevruguin appears on recto in the same location as the glass negative held in the Myron Bement Smith Collection of Antoin Sevruguin Photographs held in the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery Archives. Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. The number has been scratched out. The glass negative slide also has the number "819" in white ink on recto, but this does not appear on the gelatin silver print as the latter has been cropped by the photographer.
