A glass lantern slide titled "Salt Desert" numbered 91 produced by Newton & Co which formed part of a series titled "Persia" which consisted of 103 glass slides. The photographs were attributed to Reverend C. H. Stileman. However, a number were taken by other photographers, such as Antoin Sevruguin and Ernest Hoeltzer. Reverend C. H. Stileman went on to become the Anglican Bishop of Persia in 1912.
